We have seen several baby-lounger/sleeper product recalls, and found a few reports of issues with this product.

If a baby’s face gets pressed against the cushion, they may not have the strength to move and could suffocate. Is the Snuggle Me Baby Lounger Safe?

These may not be the only potential risks of snuggle me. Each baby lounger recall can provide further insight about potential hazards. The DockATot Recall

The safety of our children is paramount, and as parents, we rely on products to meet strict safety standards. Unfortunately, the DockATot Deluxe+ Infant Lounger has recently come under scrutiny, leading to a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall. More information is available here.

Why Was the DockATot Deluxe+ Recalled?

The DockATot Deluxe+ Infant Lounger was issued a Notice of Violation by the CPSC due to its failure to comply with the Infant Sleep Products Rule. According to CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr., the lounger poses significant safety risks when used for infant sleep.

Key issues include:

• Suffocation Hazards: The soft, padded design can obstruct an infant’s airway, especially if the baby rolls over or their face becomes pressed against the fabric.
• Non-Compliant Design: The lounger does not meet the federal safety standards established to minimize risks associated with infant sleep products.

The CPSC has taken a firm stance, emphasizing that products like the DockATot Deluxe+ are unsafe for sleep and should not be marketed or used as such. We are here to help any family who experienced a dockatot death.

Other Incidents Involving Baby Loungers

In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled several baby loungers/products in recent years due to deaths related to suffocation and other injuries. Yoocaa Baby Loungers are another example. The Yoocaa recall concerned suffocation risk and fall and entrapment hazards; Sold exclusively on Amazon.com by Yoocaa Direct.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission promulgates rules. One such rule, the Infant Sleep Products Rule, took effect in mid-2022. It requires all products intended for infant sleep to meet minimum safety standards. These include:
