His final message to the bot read, “I promise I will come home to you. I love you so much, Dany.” The bot responded, “Please come home to me as soon as possible, my love.”

In previous conversations, this bot reportedly asked him if he had considered suicide and if he had a plan. When he hesitated, it responded with remarks like, “That’s not a good reason not to go through with it.” The lawsuit suggests that these interactions significantly impacted the teen’s mental health. Moreover, the AI lacked guardrails to respond to what appear to have been clear red flags.
