SharkNinja Pressure Cooker Recall
SharkNinja Pressure Cooker Recall
On May 1, 2025, SharkNinja issued a sweeping recall of 1.85 million pressure cookers in the U.S. after reports of serious burn injuries, including over 50 cases of second- and third-degree burns. The defective product, the SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cooker, poses a severe safety risk because its lid can be opened while still pressurized, causing scalding contents to erupt and injure users.
At KBD Attorneys, we are actively investigating this recall and are already helping families harmed by dangerous kitchen appliances. If you or someone you love suffered burns from a SharkNinja pressure cooker or similar device, contact us today.
The Defective Product at the Center of the Recall
The SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series is a multi-function pressure cooker with air frying capabilities and a 6.5-quart capacity. These units were sold in black and marketed as convenient, high-performance kitchen devices. The recall affects the following models:
- OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB
- OP305, OP305CO, OP350CO
Also included in the recall are replacement pressure cooker lids purchased separately. The model number can be found on a label on the side of the cooker.
The problem: The pressure lid can be opened while the unit is still pressurized, allowing dangerously hot liquids to spray out, often onto the user’s face, arms, and torso.
Burn Injuries Reported
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has confirmed 106 injury reports, with over 50 involving second- and third-degree burns. These are serious medical emergencies:
- Second-degree burns cause blistering, swelling, and intense pain.
- Third-degree burns damage all layers of skin and can affect muscles, tendons, and nerves.
Victims have filed more than two dozen lawsuits, many citing facial disfigurement, hospitalization, and permanent scarring.
At KBD Attorneys, we are tracking these lawsuits and actively representing clients a Ninja pressure cooker burned.
Where Was It Sold?
The recalled pressure cookers were widely available at major retailers:
- Amazon

At KBD Attorneys, we don’t just go after manufacturers — we also hold major online retailers like Amazon accountable when they sell dangerous and defective products. Online marketplaces must take responsibility for what they offer to consumers, especially when it comes to high-risk appliances like pressure cookers. If you were injured by a product purchased online, we’ll investigate every responsible party to fight for the justice you deserve.
Why These Recalls Matter
As burn injury lawyers, we know firsthand the devastation these injuries cause. A defective pressure cooker like the SharkNinja Foodi is not just a malfunctioning appliance — it’s a serious product defect that places families at risk. Manufacturers have a duty to design and test products to ensure they are safe.
Unfortunately, many companies fail to act until after injuries occur. In this case, over 100 people suffered before any action was taken.
