Recall: Velazzio Heated Gloves
Velazzio Heated Gloves Pose Serious Burn Risk: CPSC Issues Urgent Safety Warning
In a chilling new safety alert, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned consumers to immediately stop using the Velazzio Thermo1 Battery Heated Gloves due to severe burn hazards. According to the CPSC, the gloves—which were widely sold on Amazon.com—can overheat or develop hotspots, placing users at risk of serious injury.
At KBD Attorneys, we are closely monitoring this alarming case and continuing our mission to expose dangerous consumer products. With 137 overheating reports and 119 reported burn injuries, the Velazzio gloves are yet another example of unregulated products flooding U.S. marketplaces, often with devastating consequences.
Details of the CPSC Safety Warning
On July 31, 2025, the CPSC issued an official Product Safety Warning urging consumers to take immediate action:
-
Stop using the gloves
-
Remove the lithium-ion battery pack
-
Dispose of the battery through local hazardous waste disposal programs
The gloves, manufactured by Jining Liexing Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. of China, were sold on Amazon from September 2019 through the present for between $9 and $140. They come in black, with a rechargeable battery stored in a zippered pocket at the base of the glove, and were packaged with a charger and carrying case.
Despite the injury reports, the manufacturer has not responded to the CPSC’s request for a recall. This means there is no refund, no repair program, and no safety fix in place—leaving tens of thousands of consumers potentially at risk.
Thousands of Burn Injuries, Zero Accountability
The scale of the problem is deeply concerning. The CPSC has already received:
-
137 incident reports of overheating
-
119 confirmed burn injuries
These injuries likely range from minor burns to severe thermal injuries requiring medical treatment, and they may have occurred while users were simply trying to keep warm. With nearly 59,000 units sold, many more injuries may have gone unreported.
At KBD Attorneys, we believe this lack of action by the manufacturer and distributor is unacceptable. When a product causes this level of harm, consumers deserve answers, accountability, and compensation—not silence.
A Pattern of Dangerous Battery-Powered Products
The Velazzio heated glove issue is part of a broader and troubling trend: battery-powered consumer products, often sold online and manufactured overseas, are causing more and more injuries. Lithium-ion batteries, though commonly used in devices from phones to scooters, are highly volatile if poorly manufactured or improperly managed.
Recent recalls and safety warnings include:
-
Exploding e-bike batteries
-
Overheating e-scooters
-
Battery-powered toys catching fire
-
Defective wearable heating products
These products, often imported and sold through marketplaces like Amazon, are not always subject to the same safety regulations or testing as products from well-known U.S. brands.
As a result, consumers are unknowingly taking risks, and legal liability becomes murky when injuries occur.
No Recall? That Doesn’t Mean You’re Out of Options
It’s important to understand that even if there is no official recall, victims of defective products may still have strong legal claims.
If a product:
-
Causes injury due to a design flaw,
-
Malfunctions because of a manufacturing defect, or
-
Fails to include adequate warnings,
…the manufacturer, importer, and possibly even the seller (like Amazon) may be legally liable.
In the case of the Velazzio Thermo1 gloves, the high volume of injuries combined with a complete lack of response from the manufacturer creates a strong basis for product liability claims.

Proper Disposal Is Critical
Another crucial point from the CPSC warning is the safe disposal of the lithium-ion battery. These batteries are not safe to toss in the trash, and doing so can result in fire hazards for waste workers and recycling centers.
Instead, the CPSC recommends:
-
Contacting your local hazardous waste disposal facility
-
Confirming they accept lithium-ion batteries
-
Following all municipal safety guidelines
Improper disposal may contribute to fires, environmental contamination, or injury, especially when batteries are damaged or defective.
What to Do If You’ve Been Injured
If you or a loved one was injured by a Velazzio Thermo1 glove or another defective battery-powered product, you may be entitled to compensation. Burn injuries can lead to:
-
Permanent scarring
-
Infection
-
Nerve damage
-
