Queerick Infant Swings Pose Suffocation Risk

On May 15, 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a serious warning about Queerick Infant Swings. Parents and caregivers are being urged to stop using these swings immediately due to safety risks. According to the CPSC, these swings create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants and may cause serious injury or even death.

Reason for the Queerick Infant Swings Recall?

The CPSC flagged several critical safety issues:

These issues combine to make the product extremely hazardous. Swings with a steep incline increase the risk of suffocation. Improper battery labeling adds to the danger. If a child swallows a button cell or coin battery, it can cause internal chemical burns and even death.

What Should Consumers Do?

Consumers should immediately:

  • Stop using the Queerick Infant Swing.
  • Dispose of it in accordance with local hazardous waste procedures.
  • Safely remove and recycle the lithium coin battery.
  • Do not sell or donate the swing to others.

The product’s seller, Foshanshipengjianfeiyukejiyouxiangongsi of China (doing business as Power Transform), has not agreed to a recall. This makes consumer action even more important.

Parents: Follow Safe Sleep Practices

The safest place for an infant to sleep is a firm, flat surface. That means:

  • Use a crib, bassinet, or play yard
  • Only use a fitted sheet
  • No blankets, pillows, or toys
  • Always place babies on their backs to sleep
  • If a baby falls asleep in a swing or car seat, move them to a crib right away

Other Unsafe Swings: Nezmdi Electric Infant Swings

This is not the only dangerous swing flagged by the CPSC. Nezmdi-branded electric infant swings were also found to be unsafe. Like the Queerick swings, they do not comply with federal safety rules. Parents should be aware of both recalls.
