myCharge Portable Chargers Recall via Consumer Product Safety Commission

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) announced a recall of about 567,000 of myCharge POWER HUB portable chargers on June 20, 2024, after reports that the product overheads. The CPSC says the chargers pose dangers of burns and risks of fires.

Recalled myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000mAh portable charger, models AO10FK-A, AO10FK-B, and AO10FK-C

The portable charger is black with a built-in wall-plug on the backside, with two built in cables. The CSPC’s website has more information on the description of the chargers and how to properly dispose of the batteries.

myCharge Portable Chargers Can Overheat, Damage Property, and May Cause Injuries

There have been 120 reports of the chargers overheating, and two house fires, reportedly costing $165,000 in property damage. There are no reports that claim to have led to serious injuries, but they pose enough threat to consumers for the chargers to be taken off the market.

The portable chargers were sold at Costco both in stores and online between January 2022 and November 2023. Many customers returned the chargers after experiencing the following.

  • Melting
  • Expanding
  • Smoking
  • Fire
  • Burning
