Gas explosion in Pikesville kills one and injuries others
Several of us at KBA worked in Pikesville Maryland. We were shocked today to learn of an explosion there.
The explosion occurred at Labyrinth and Reisterstown Road. CBS Baltimore reported, the explosion happened along the 4200 block of Brookhill Road near the Reisterstown Road Plaza before 10 a.m. At least three homes collapsed and the debris blew out windows in nearby homes.
Two people are seriously injured. One person died. Cars in flames and a person was sent to shock trauma. Early reports suggest it was accidental. WBALTV 11 reported:
“Investigators said the man is a plumber who uses propane for his torch, Police said the man left a propane tank in his car, and investigators believe the tank leaked over the weekend and filled the car. Investigators said the man opened a car door, smelled gas and closed the door, which is when the car exploded.”
We have everyone in our thoughts as this develops.
