Robert has dedicated his entire career to being a trial lawyer and litigating products liability
cases, with a particular focus on catastrophic injuries caused by products and mass tort drug and
medical device cases. He is currently KBA’s lead lawyer for the firm’s extensive hernia mesh
docket and litigates an array of other complex matters.
Robert has specialized in products liability for over a decade and has extensive litigation and trial
experience. Robert has tried several complex cases, which includes being a trial team member in
the Allen v. Takeda, et al. trial, the first and only bellwether case in In Re: Actos MDL 2299,
which resulted in a $9 billion dollar verdict, one of the largest civil litigation drug verdicts in
U.S. history. Robert has an expansive leadership history, and currently serves as co-lead counsel
in In Re: Strattice Hernia Mesh Litigation (MCL 636). He has previously served on numerous
complex litigation steering committees, including: In Re: Proceed Mesh Litigation (New Jersey
Multicounty Litigation MCL 630) (executive committee member); In Re: Davol, Inc. / C.R.
Bard, Inc., Polypropylene Hernia Mesh Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2846) (discovery co-
chair); In Re: Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (MDL’s 2187; 2325; 2326;
2327; and 2387) (steering committee member); and In Re: Actos (Pioglitazone) Products
Liability Litigation (MDL 2299) (steering committee participant).
Robert’s work has resulted in over $100 million dollars in gross recoveries on behalf of his
clients. He is a zealous advocate driven by the satisfaction of obtaining redress for victims of
corporate negligence and wrongdoing. He is frequently regarded as a hard-nosed workhorse and
an evenly tempered yet tenacious litigator. One of his proudest accomplishments is taking on a
notorious pharmaceutical giant in two cases involving catastrophic injuries in children who
ingested a popular prescription drug and resolving those cases successfully following hard-
fought litigation.
Robert maintains an office in Pensacola, Florida and is a native of the area. He is a graduate of
the University of West Florida (2004) and Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law
(2010). Prior to becoming a partner at KBA, Robert spent 11 years of his career at one of the
largest and most nationally recognized plaintiff’s civil litigation firms, where he climbed the
ranks to become a partner until he ultimately decided to join KBA in 2021. Over the past several
years, both he and his wife, Angela, have devoted significant time and resources to community
events and community service in Northwest Florida.
