Church Sex Abuse History

Sexual abuse within the Catholic church has been dated back as far as the AD 1051, through the Liber Gomorrhianus (Book of Gomorrah). This book covered the different vices that plagued those who work within the church and pushed for reform. There are many accusations to this day of priests who have sexually abused children, and an equal amount of those who would argue that this abuse doesn’t exist. While lawsuits have been filed, not many have been held accountable for their actions, whether that be carrying out the actual abuse, or attempting to cover up for their peers.
