Peter T. Anderson has a long track record of litigating complex, high-stakes cases. As an associate attorney, Mr. Anderson assisted a team of attorneys in securing a multi-million dollar settlement for survivors of the 2010 Massey Mine disaster. Mr. Anderson has also assisted in litigating a wrongful death plane crash case and a wrongful death case arising out of the 2013 Navy Yard shooting.
Mr. Anderson began his legal career handling multi-district product liability cases with a large firm, including cases against some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world. In this role, Mr. Anderson represented hundreds of claimants and was assigned to the Law and Briefing and Discovery Committees in the Granuflo litigation, which resulted in a $250 million global settlement.
Peter T. Anderson has also developed a strong nursing home negligence practice, fighting corporations who put profits over patient safety. Mr. Anderson has successfully prosecuted dozens of nursing home negligence actions in the D.C. area, resulting in several large settlements.
Finally, Mr. Anderson litigates medical malpractice cases. In 2017, Mr. Anderson obtained a large settlement against a Virginia hospital for failing to protect a mental health patient who was brutally assaulted by another patient with violent tendencies.
Mr. Anderson was born in Denver, Colorado, but grew up in Ithaca, New York. He graduated from the University of Michigan, earning a B.A. in psychology. He later graduated from the George Washington University Law School. During law school, Mr. Anderson interned with two branches of the Department of Justice, including the ATF and the Office of the Federal Detention Trustee.
In his free time, Mr. Anderson enjoys exercising and spending time with his family. In 2014, Mr. Anderson competed in a powerlifting competition. In 2015, Mr. Anderson went on a cycling trip across Israel.
